The most important questions at a glance
The Office Support Team specializes in the areas of "secretarial work" and "clerical work" within the TU Dortmund University and is familiar with the various administrative processes of the university. If there are planned or unplanned staff shortages in the secretarial and clerical areas, the support staff can provide targeted assistance. As immediate help, they take over the most urgent tasks on a part-time basis, which cannot be handled by the respective departments themselves.
The respective support assignments are for a maximum of five months, each with a maximum of 50 percent of the regular weekly working time.
Office Support is available, for example, if start-up help is needed when setting up a new department, if work peaks need to be absorbed, or if employees are not on duty for a longer period of time due to parental leave or long illnesses. With this support service, TU Dortmund University has been a pioneer among universities in North Rhine-Westphalia since 2011.

"The entire team of our chair is very grateful for the excellent secretarial and clerical support. The fact that an unstaffed secretariat brings great challenges for the operation of a chair is noticed very quickly, especially in the management. Fortunately, however, the very professional help provided by the support staff came just as quickly. Thus, not only could the regular operation of our chair be ensured, but many processes could also be sustainably improved."
(Prof. Dr. Moritz Schulze Darup, Head of the Chair of Control Engineering and Cyberphysical Systems at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering)
